Introduction

In order to coordinate the Danish effort in building instruments for ground-based astronomical research , IJAF was inagurated January 1996. With mechanical and electronic workshops in close contact with astronomers, state-of-the-art instruments for telescopes worldwide are being built. Other tasks includes maintenance of several telescopes and allocation of the Danish fraction of observing time on the 1.54m telescope at La Silla.
